I'm currently building a 300 blackout for perimeter defense and hunting.
Parts I have are:
Phase 5 Tactical receiver set
Phase 5 nickle bcg
Phase 5 EBRv2 bolt catch release with a B.A.D. (battery assist device) as a single unit
CMMG lpk (lower parts kit) with 2 stage trigger
Battlearms EPS (enhanced pin set)
Battlearms 45° Bad-Ass ambi safety
Rainier Arms Raptor charging handle
Parts I still need:
Fortis 14" REV rail
Buffer tube, spring and buffer
Magpul PRS stock
18" heavy, stainless or melonite, fluted barrel
Diamondhead 45° offset buis
I'm currently looking at several different options for an optic
Here's the question. Most of the 300 blackout barrels I've seen either have a pistol or carbine length gas system. Is this due to the round and/or propellant used? Would having a barrel cut for a mid length gas system foul the cycling?
